Superior service and speed
Long time Holland customers, Temperature Equipment Corporation (TEC) located in Noblesville, IN, recently ran into a situation that demanded the expedited on-time delivery of a highly important shipment. Having plenty of experience with Holland, Temperature Equipment Corporation knew that they could rely on the region-leading LTL carrier to get the job done.
On a Wednesday evening, TEC Sales Coordinator, Tina Dudek called Holland Indianapolis Customer Service Rep, Christina Worland-Baker, concerning a mission critical shipment being made to one of their largest vendors.
"Christina took my call, understood exactly what I needed and made all the notes and efforts necessary to make that happen," Tina Dudek wrote. "The customer received it first thing this morning. I knew because the customer called me amazed. Christina also called me and left a message to let me know. That's customer service old school! I am in customer service myself, so I appreciate it when someone goes the extra mile. On all my deliveries that are important or time critical, I always ask for Holland."
With a wealth of professional experience, expertise, and a dedication to service, Christina Worland-Baker exemplifies what it means to do business with Holland. When asked what motivates her to "go the extra mile," Christina said, "I have always been taught that when you go the extra mile, you give your customers an experience they will not forget."
With more next-day lanes than any other carrier in the region, Holland is best equipped to get your shipments delivered right away and right on-time. And that next-day expertise is coupled with world-class customer service that defies the contemporary trend of automated call-centers and machines in place of human beings. In our minds, that's the only way . . . the Holland way.

The 2013 Ohio Truck Driving Championships were held recently at the IX Center in Cleveland, OH. The event brought in over 150 safety champions from 24 different companies across the state. To participate, professional drivers must maintain continuous employment with a motor carrier fleet for at least one year and remain accident-free (regardless of fault) for one year prior to competition.
Ten Holland drivers competed in various divisions.
Holland professional driver, Russ Simpson (Columbus, OH), earned first place in the 5-axle class at the 2013 Ohio Truck Driving Championships.
Simpson's win at state qualifies him to compete at the National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC) in August in Salt Lake City, UT.
The NTDC is a competition of professional truck drivers hosted each year by American Trucking Associations. NTDC competitors are made up of the winners from 50 State Trucking Associations' Truck Driving Championships. The NTDC and Truck Driving Championships are considered one of the largest and most effective safety programs. Known to many as the "Super Bowl of Safety," these annual competitions inspire tens of thousands of drivers to operate accident-free for the right to compete.
During the TDC and NTDC competition, each driver has a chance to demonstrate his or her driving and inspection skills, knowledge and professionalism through a series of tests. The drivers undergo a written examination, personal interview, pre-trip inspection test and finally, the most visible--the skills test.
When discussing why he competes, Simpson explained that a number of factors motivate him.
"I really enjoy the competitions. I've met some great drivers and friends. More importantly, competing in these events is my way of improving my skills, and showing respect for the company by giving back the best way I can.

Celebrating the Employees Who Make a Great Company Great: I Am Holland
"I am Holland" award winners are Holland employees who exemplify integrity, respect, excellence, hard work and continuous improvement in the workplace. One of this year's nine "I am Holland" award winners is Memphis Customer Service Rep (CSR), Penny Raney.
Penny has been with Holland for 16 years, and has been in the transportation industry for over 40 years. All but ten years of her career have been spent in customer service, making her a true wealth of experience, knowledge, and expertise in her field.
And those qualities do not go unnoticed at the Memphis service center. According to Account Executive, Sharon Williams, "Penny is the first CSR at the Memphis facility that I call when I am out making sales calls and need help for a customer. I have complete confidence that she will handle all matters in a timely manner and that our customers will be satisfied with her results."
Penny is a "go-to" person for customers and co-workers alike in Memphis, no matter what the situation.
She says, "It's the challenges and the pleasure in helping others that motivate me to provide the best service day in and day out."
